Acid Reflux Medicine

As you may already know I write a lot of articles about various health issues and I’ve found to my amazement that there is a tremendous request for information on acid reflux medicine and remedies.

The difference between an acid reflux medicine and an acid reflux remedy is that the remedy is based on natural science, whereas the medicine is based on what next up and coming drug or surgery is patentable.

By patentable, I mean, marketable as ‘medicine.’

What we think of today as medicine is nothing like what it used to be. Two thousand years ago Hippocrates, called the Father of Medicine, proclaimed to make “food your medicine and medicine your food.” For that matter, laughter was considered to be the best medicine, but now it’s regarded as one of the best unpatentable, or natural, remedies on earth.

If you do your own research and look into it there is plenty of science to back up food and laughter as sound remedies and who at least one of them may even help eliminate your acid reflux . . .

Imagine the right food actually being a remedy for your acid reflux, instead of pharmaceutical medicine, then who will have the last laugh?

Acid reflux is no laughing matter and neither is any health challenge, yet if you can find a way you can laugh about it, it may help alleviate some of the stress related factors often associated with acid reflux.

Acid reflux medicine is intended to be used ONLY for brief periods of time, NOT on a daily basis. I don’t care how cute the Alka-Seltzer commercials get, its patented medicine, which means there are side effects, especially if you take on a daily basis.

On the other hand acid reflux remedies supported by evidence-based science are completely safe to use on a daily basis. That’s not to imply that you need to take a remedy for acid reflux on a daily basis, but the same thing that prevents acid reflux also cures it . . .

That’s the ugly truth about medicine and the good news about remedies for acid reflux. Medicine is a product that as a drug only addresses the symptoms of acid reflux, sometimes making the symptoms come back worse later.

For example Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) are a medicine for acid reflux, which are documented to cause acid rebound, dependency and even lead to unnecessary surgeries in some cases.

Always look at the science of using a natural, proven safe and effective remedy, before running to your drug store to use medicine for your acid reflux. In either case if it’s recurring acid reflux see a few qualified health professionals before taking any medicine.

GERD Natural Treatments

Natural treatments for gastro intestinal reflux disease (GERD) are simple to find and safe to take.

Most people don’t realize that the cause of their GERD is from treatments that only cover up the symptoms of GERD. At least a natural cure won?t have adverse side effects and can buy you time until you find the right natural cure for you.

When you fail to cure the cause of your heartburn, acid reflux or acid indigestion, because you blocked all acid reflux symptoms, your acute or sudden acid reflux becomes chronic.

That’s all GERD is . . . chronic heartburn.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Nothing happens at the symptom level. Change only takes place at the causal level.”

Natural treatments for GERD are always better than unnatural treatments for GERD, no doubt . . . but treatment still only treats symptoms of GERD.

The great thing about a nutritional approach to GERD treatment is at least you’re contributing something toward your cell health and the natural healing process, where as drugs do nothing to nurture your cell health.

In fact all prescriptive drugs are designed to slow down your own detoxification process by chemically inhibiting your kidney and liver. This action keeps the drugs in your body longer . . . otherwise your immune system will identify them as poison and eliminate them quickly.

I’m not a physician, but it doesn’t take one to tell you that if you have GERD, acid rebound or even the early stages of heartburn, the last thing you need is to burden your healing process with harmful chemicals.

Bottom line is if you’re even considering treatment for the symptoms of GERD, you need to think twice about what the real cause of your GERD is.

Before you had GERD, you most likely had acid rebound, right? Do you remember how you got acid rebound? Odds are it was an adverse side effect of taking a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), like Prilosec. These drugs cause acid rebound . . .

Remember before acid rebound? You may have had a bout with Hiatal hernia and before that acid indigestion, acid reflux and heartburn.

Everyone is different, but this GERD timeline may help you gather a better idea of why you’re looking to GERD treatment. At least you’re looking for a natural treatment for your GERD, but if you don’t start addressing the root cause, odds are your symptoms might continue to get worse, leading to surgery or worse . . . even throat cancer.

Go back to the basics and you’ll discover the natural cure for your GERD, or should I say, a natural solution to help your healing system eliminate the original cause of your GERD suffering.

The natural treatment for your GERD is a step in the right direction, at least until you learn what will help you heal yourself using one of the many natural cures available.

Acid Bad Breath Reflux

Today you did a personal search for acid bad breath reflux because obviously your acid reflux or that of another has created a nasty green fog that’s ruining your relationships.

Nothing says health better than fresh breath.

We all have bad breath from time to time, but when acid reflux flares up you’re going to probably smell as bad as it tastes in your mouth, maybe worse.

Nothing says poor health better than acid reflux.

Perhaps due to hundreds of millions of dollars spent on direct-to-consumer advertising for acid reflux products most people think of heartburn, acid reflux and acid indigestion as being as natural as burping.

IF you have acid reflux once and it goes away, you wouldn’t likely have an issue with bad breath. However, IF you have chronic or recurring acid reflux, you’ve got a bad breath problem to boot.

Everyone knows that covering up the symptoms of acid reflux isn’t a cure for it, right?

Wrong, I’m afraid that’s not the case at all.

Most people think its okay to pop an antacid to cover up chronic acid reflux, or even for an occasional heartburn attack from over eating, but it’s not.

Plus the fact that the antacids are tasty little flavored candies helps the illusion along that you don’t have a bad breath problem.

Don’t you know here is a thing called aluminum poisoning, also known as Alzheimer’s disease?

Antacids don’t cure acid reflux, bad breath or memory problems, but they do help cause them.

One big issue with the ‘practice’ of consuming antacids is they have the bad effect of depleting bone and tooth calcium. Clearly blocking stomach acid production affects other functions inside the body that drug researchers have no explanation for. Ya think?

Acid Reflux Relief

Having the calcium in your teeth disappearing isn’t going to help your bad breath situation and can only make your acid reflux come back with a vengeance . . .the side effect is called ‘acid rebound’.

Listen . . . acid reflux is a health problem that needs to be addressed at the root cause level, not at the symptom level.

The only solution for your combination of bad breath and acid reflux is to cure them simultaneously and the way you can do it is to first re-evaluate your ‘whole life’.

It’s also called Holistic thinking . . .

It’s your life and you know your acid reflux and bad breath didn’t suddenly appear. For every cause there is an effect . . .your acid reflux and bad breath are the effect of over eating, eating bad foods and thinking you could get away with it.

The fact is in the end each of us is ultimately responsible for our own health, NOT the drug companies or the food companies.

Your acid reflux and bad breath can be cured and it will be once you let go of the misconception that treating the effects are the same as removing the cause.

Heartburn That Won?t Go Away

You?ve tried everything they told you to and your heart burn just won?t go away.

There is a solution, but first you have to agree to stop taking the blame. Sure, ultimately we are all responsible for our own health in the end. You really need to be your own authority of these matters, especially when it comes to heartburn.

But your acid reflux suffering is being prolonged by false advertising, incorrect medical diagnosis and deceptive products that only make acid reflux worse.

Did you know the direct-to-consumer advertising you?re exposed to is illegal in every country but the US and New Zeeland?

Why?

Because real health issues are being played down and disease symptoms are being played up, just to get you to ask your doctor to sell you the latest drug or to get you to ignore a serious health condition.

Other countries see through their game and refuse to allow corporations to manipulate the masses with the unethical use of ?the power of negative autosuggestion.?

Just the word ?heartburn? plays down the seriousness of the underlying health problem. Everyone just thinks popping an antacid will get you over it. Well the fact is you?re just treating a symptom by popping that candy elixir, which means you?re ignoring the root cause.

That?s why scientists estimate at least 15,000,000 million Americans suffer from acid reflux diseases, because no one?s acid reflux disease ever gets cured here.

Obviously something is wrong with this picture. If antacids worked why are so many people developing an ?acid reflux disease??

That term sounds a lot worse than having a simple case of ?heartburn?, doesn?t it?

Your heartburn isn?t just a ?food hang over.? There?s something much more serious going on here.

Direct-to-Consumer advertising is a multi-billion dollar investment. No one spends anywhere close to the amount of money drug companies in America do.

Many years ago Swedish researchers proved beyond a shadow of a doubt the antacids where less than effective, in fact it?s clear that antacids cause acid rebound.

Acid rebound is like heartburn on steroids.

That?s right these drugs just delay people from addressing the root cause of acid indigestion. Drug companies are making themselves a fortune by adding more customers, through deceptive means.

Here are some other things you can do to address the cause of acid reflux diseases:

Don?t eat so many processed foods, they only aggravate your acid reflux problem. The most common irritants are caffeine, alcohol, pasteurized milk dairy products, fried and high-fat foods, milk chocolate, blanched, pasteurized or oiled nuts, some tomato products and sugary juices.

Here are some more self-health care tips:

* Don?t eat 3 hours before lying down

* Don’t smoke cigarettes

* Eat smaller, more frequent meals.

* Eat slowly and chew thoroughly.

* Lose 10 pounds

* Sleep with the head of your bed elevated

* Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen and other similar analgesic medications; they can make acid reflux worse.

* eat more magnesium rich foods

* Avoid antacids that contain aluminum if you must take any

* Drink water only between your meals

If you take an antacid for longer than 3 weeks, check with your doctor before continuing. Long-term use of antacids can cause diarrhea, a change in the way the body processes calcium and a buildup of magnesium in the body, among other health risks.
